"No offense intended Julia but... the bitch lied."

In honor of my idol receiving her 24th and 25th Golden Globe nominations plus her 12th SAG nomination, I will be reviewing...
Julie and Julia!
The Story: Julie Powell is a bored office temp who decides to spend a year cooking through Julia Child's cook book while writing her whole journey in a blog... much like I am doing here, watching a movie a day!

Best Character: Julia Child!
Hahahaha I couldn't help it! Ok... seriously now.

Best Character: Paul Child
Paul Child was everything that every woman wants for a husband. He was kind, understanding, supportive, and loved when his wife ate whatever and whenever she wanted! He gave Julia the love she deserved and I think every woman fell in love with him a little bit during this film. He was the perfect opposite for our heroine and was adorable the whole time!

Best Mouthwatering Scene: The Chocolate Pie!
When Julie comes home from a bad day at work before she decides to write a blog she makes a chocolate creme pie. Chocolate is something that no one can refuse and if they do they are so weird!

Funniest Scene: The Lobster Scene
The mixture of Julie's trepidation of killing the lobsters plus the added comedy of her husband and the ironic background music of The Talking Heads "Psycho Killer" makes this the funniest scene in my opinion. While Julie tries to buck up and kill the lobsters her husbands walking around singing 'Lobster Killer'! Hahaha you can't help but laugh during this scene.

Funniest Quote!
"I looked fat."
"Just your face."

Best Presented Dinner: Day 365
The presentation of Julie's final day of her cooking/blog was so beautiful! The flowers and food on the table was simply gorgeous along with the added background of the lights of New York City at night! A beautiful sight indeed.

This movie is now available on DVD and is a must buy for an Meryl Streep fan or any fan of good old romantic comedies who just loooove food!

That's it for now. Until next time, I'm just Simply Bitsie.

"What do you think? Zombie Kill of the Week?"

It's time to shake things up a wee bit. Not another chick flick but a nice comedy that the whole family will love... Zombieland! Yay!
The Story? The World gets taken over by Zombies and 4 people try to live to find zombie-free land!

Best Character: Little Rock
Cute little Abigail Breslin from Little Miss Sunshine and No Reservation fame really comes to life in this movie as a spunky little zombie killing 12 year old who loves to turn tricks on unsuspecting men! Gotta love it!

Best Rule: The Double Tap
Nothing is better than the double tap. Just when you thought they were down they were back... but not for long! Oh the double tap!

Zombie Kill of The Week: The Banjo Scene
I never thought I would see the day when someone used an banjo to kill a zombie.

Best Redneck Scene: Finding The Hummer

Funniest Scene: Girl from 406

Best Zombie Look: The Clown

"The last thing I need is another picture of me looking like a porcelain doll."

Tonight is a great night for a classic! And what would be the only movie on that list for me? Titanic of course!
Omg! Titanic is one of those movies that I can watch over and over and over again even in the same day and still be madly in love with. I could never get tired of this film!

And I'm not even going to summarize it and act like there isn't a
single person in this world over the age of ... 12 that hasn't seen this movie! I'm just going to use this time to completely go all geeky and praise my favorite parts of this movie!

Ok, onto the fun stuff!

Best Character: A Tie!
Rose (Of course) and Molly Brown!

I'm gonna skip Rose for a second and move right onto Molly Brown. This character does many things in this movie which attracts the audience to her presence. One of the things is that her character is a very spunky little thing. She calls Cal on his actions towards Rose and the attitude of the ladies of the first class. Another thing she does is takes up for Jack, helping him out on his night at dinner with Rose's crowd. And anyone who helps Jack and Rose is a fan by all the hopeless romantic viewers who watch this film. She also is one of the only people you see who was saved and feels remorse over the people left to die and wants to turn around and help. That made her even more real to us and again a fan favorite!

Now Rose. Rose is a character who every woman watching dreams of being. She is beyond beautiful, has a big heart, and the love of a fantastic and smoking hot man! You feel for her as a woman, being forced to marry a man who she does not love or even care for and then watching the man that she loves die after saving her. You feel so happy for her at the end when you see that she went on and lived the life that she and Jack dreamed up together! There was never a moment when you didn't want to be Rose or dream up the perfect ending for her and Jack!

The Funniest Scene: The Spitting Scene
This was one of the first bonding scenes between Jack and Rose and one of the first scenes where Rose really let her hair down and was able to be herself. You can see the true chemistry between the two and the beginnings of the great love. Plus how funny is it to see Jack teaching Rose to spit like a man! Then the true horror of her mother walking up behind her, ruining the moment! :)

The Scene You Wish You Had Been In: The Spinning Scene!
You can't help but remember the times when you locked hands with a friend and spun and spun and spun until you fell down dizzy out of your mind! And while watching this I'm sure you longed for those days when the spinning made life just melt away and all that mattered was what time you had to be home for dinner!

The Shock Scene: The Breakfast Scene
Everyone knew that Cal sucked but I don't think anyone realized how much until this scene. The pure terror on Rose's face was just heartbreaking! Poor girl!

The Scene That Made All Women Squee!!
The Handprint and Car Scene!
Yes our hero and heroine finally got it on! Hahaha. But seriously, my girlfriends and I will still try to make that hand print in windows! This scene made all of our little romantic hearts cry with joy!

Sexiest Frame of The Film: Jack's Eyes While Drawing Rose
The intensity of this beautiful man's eyes was just soooo sexy. I don't think any woman alive would disagree with me. While many men would say that it was the whole scene it self that was the sexiest part of the film (yeah yeah naked Rose) but really?? It's just the eyes for me. The windows into a man's soul and into my heart!

Best Romantic Scene: The Kiss!
There is nothing I can say really. This is probably the most memorable kiss is movie history!

The Saddest Scene: Jack Dies
You pray for the happy ending, I mean hey, in movies now a days you always get your happy ending, but in this film... not so much. So you watch these two overcome a disgruntled fiance who chases them while practicing his target range, a sinking ship, and then the brutal people in the water only to have Jack freeze to death! I mean... wth! Yet again... Poor Rose!

The Best Happily Ever After: Rose's Heaven!
So after being tortured with the death of Jack we finally get some closure when Rose, now over the age of 100 passes in her sleep and she moves onto her heaven which includes all of the lost souls of the people on the Titanic and her love! That scene could bring a tear from any person, man or woman!

Memorable Quotes!

Rose: [letting go of Jack's hand] I'll never let go, Jack. I promise.

Jack: Where to, Miss?
Rose: To the stars.

Ruth: Will the lifeboats be seated according to class? I hope they aren't too crowded.
Rose
: Oh mother, shut up! Don't you understand? The water is freezing and there aren't enough boats. Not enough by half. Half the people on this ship are going to die.
Cal Hockley
: Not the better half.
Molly Brown
: Come on Ruth, first-class seats are right up here.
Cal Hockley
: You know, it's a pity I didn't keep that drawing. It'll be worth a lot more by morning.
Rose: You unimaginable bastard!

Ok. So the only thing I can say is that if you don't own this movie, you should be shot! lol Ok maybe not that but you shouldn't be allowed to watch movies!

So another review possible for tomorrow.

Until then I'm just Simply Bitsie!

"Guard your carnal treasure."

The Saturday Night Movie this lovely December night is...

Win A Date With Tad Hamilton!

The Story: A small town girl from West Virginia enters a contest and wins to go on a date with Tad Hamilton, a very popular Hollywood actor who is trying to improve his imagine. After having her date Rosalee returns home to her best friends including the boy that is in love with her only to find out that Tad Hamilton followed her home!

Best Character: Tie!
Cathy and Richard!

These two were the perfect quirky best friends that everyone needs and loves! Cathy plays off Rosalee as her other half, the one that puts the bad/naughty thoughts into her head while Richard plays Tod's spoiled Hollywood agent who is just plain funny! They always brought the laughs and were a constant joy to watch!

Best Scene: The Wood Chopping Scene

This scene between Tad and Pete is just so hilarious and visually stimulating thanks to hunky Josh Duhamel! Poor Pete tries to out shine Tad by being better at everything that has to do with running a farm, thinking the hot shot Hollywood boy would know nothing about country life. Unbeknownst to him, Tad is better than him at country life due to training that he received for filming several different movies in his past.
Aww poor Pete loses the hotness contest again!

Funniest quote: Another Tie!
Damn this movie for being so good! My two top quotes are...
Rosalee: Your standing films will time and test themselves.
Tad: [beat] Thank you.

And...

Cathy: [to Tad] And at which point, Tad, If you are going back to the airport I will ride with you, and by the Route 73 cloverleaf, I will have given myself to you in ways you've only read about in the drugstore!

So the verdict in this case is that this movie is a Must Rent for the ladies but probably a pass for the men! This is probably a little too much mush and romance and estrogen for guys but is the perfect movie to watch with you girlfriends on an all night movie marathon while eating loads of junk food!

That's it for now!
Another movie possible for later tonight or tomorrow! :)

Until then, I'm just Simply Bitsie!

"That ain't no Etch-A-Sketch. This is one doodle that can't be un-did, Homeskillet."

To Rent or Not To Rent?

The movie in question tonight... well you guessed it!
Juno!

The Story: Juno is a 16 yr old girl who finds herself pregnant by her best friend. She then decides to give her baby up for adoption. The movie follows her throughout her pregnancy.

Best Character: Leah
Leah, Juno's teacher loving best girlfriend is such a quirky delight in every scene she shows up in. Her lines are memorable as well as her very colorful outfits. She is always there for Juno, if it be during a prenatal ultrasound or filling a boys mailbox with orange flavored tic-tacs. You can't help but laugh every time you see her or cringe when she talks about her love for her 'sexy math teacher Keith'.

Best Scene: The Jogging Scene
This scene which occurs near the beginning of the movie helps you get a feel for what the rest of the film will bring. The colorful way that Juno describes the "pork swords" cracks you up while grossing you out at the same time. It helps break up the tension of Juno telling Bleaker about the baby and keeps the moving flowing on a funny note!

Funniest Quote!
Bren: When you move out I'm getting Weimaraners!
Juno: WHOA DREAM BIG!
Bren: Oh, go fly a kite!

So all in all I would put Juno as a Must Have!
Don't just rent it, BUY it!

That's it for now. More to come later.

Until then, I'm just Simply Bitsie!
